Special Note: The educational environment contains multiple latex products and exposure to potential blood borne pathogens and that all treatment conforms to current infection control standards as designated by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the United States Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) . . . Opportunities for part-time work and flexible schedules are common and salaries are high, making EFDA an exceptional career choice.
In addition to treating patients directly, EFDAs may also work as educators and in business. Clinical EFDAs may work in a variety of health care settings such as private dental offices, public health clinics, hospitals, managed care organizations and correctional institutions.
EFDA’s have the option of pursuing an option to step up the career ladder to dental hygiene after graduating. This option allows these licensed oral health professionals to obtain their goals while working. Please contact the EFDA office for more information: 206-934-4186.
